Renewal of the PDA Property-based Business Improvement District (PBID)

The Playhouse District Association has come a long way since its incorporation in 1995. We have witnessed revitalization and strive for continued activation of the sidewalks creating vitality. The PDA is in a very important phase, and the support of District property owners is needed now to renew the funding of the Property-based Business Improvement District (PBID). The renewal of the PBID is paramount to continue our efforts which provide key services which keep the District clean and safe, vibrant and a desirable place to own property, work, live and play.

Renewal Timeline

  • Petition Phase: Winter 2015 – Spring 2016
  • Ballot Phase: Spring 2016
  • New PBID Term: January 2017 – December 2021

Vision for 2017 – 2021

The renewal of the PDA PBID will enable the PDA to build upon the success of the events, programs and services established since the PBID was approved in 2001. The PDA’s Mission Statement serves as the foundation of the PDA’s activities: To promote the economic vitality of the Playhouse District as the center of Culture, Commerce and Community in the heart of Pasadena. The PDA’s core programs and services will remain in place and will be enhanced with the following:

  • An additional Ambassador Guide who will focus on Zone A
  • Developing parking resources
  • Creating public space
  • Targeting retail and restaurant recruitment
