See CROWNS at the Pasadena Playhouse for $10

The Pasadena Playhouse is testing a new community outreach program called “Real Live Theatre for Less Than a Movie.” The theatre will pick one performance for select shows where people who show proof of residency or employment in Pasadena can attend for $10. That’s less than the cost of an adult ticket at most movie theaters! Tickets are first-come, first-served and will be sold only at the box office on the night of the show. The first test is tomorrow, Wednesday, July 29 at 8 pm. Get there early to get your $10 ticket to see CROWNS! The Playhouse is located at 39 South El Molino Avenue, Pasadena, CA 91101.

ABOUT CROWNS:
By Regina Taylor
Directed by Israel Hicks
Adapted from the book by Michael Cunningham and Craig Marberry

Winner of four Washington D.C. Helen Hayes awards including Best Regional Musical, Crowns explores the lives of the “hat queens,” six women in the South whose stories of love, loss, identity and sisterhood are woven into the hats that crown their heads and the songs that speak their truth. Based on the acclaimed coffee table book, Crowns captures the thrill of self expression with a series of intimate musical portraits.
