Film Festival Flix at Laemmle Playhouse

FILM FESTIVAL FLIX is a monthly film series which brings the film festival experience to communities around the country. Each month, film enthusiasts from selected cities will be offered an All Access pass to the ―Best of the Fests, and a chance to enjoy festival events in the comfort of a local theater in their home town.

This month’s screening at Laemmle’s Playhouse 7, 673 E. Colorado Blvd. will take place on Wednesday, February 6  at 7:30 p.m. The film screened is “Night” by Australian filmmaker Lawrence Johnston, exploring the phenomenon of night night as respite form the stress of the day, a time to step out and a time of mystery, romance and joy. Screening is followed by a Q & A with filmmaker Lawrence Johnston. Pre-showing reception begins at 6:00 p.m. at Monopole Wine Bar (21 S. El Molino Ave., about one block from the theatre). Merry Merry Movie FREE holiday event courtesy of the Playhouse District

Join the PDA for the Merry Merry Movie event in the Playhouse District on Saturday, December 15th at 10 am at the Laemmle Playhouse 7 Theatre located at 673 E. Colorado Blvd. Holiday treats and surprises await all who attend! This year’s movie is A Christmas Carol  starring Jim Carrey. The movie screening will be followed by a free holiday concert by St. Lucy’s Big Christmas Band in the Vroman’s Courtyard. The Holy Land of Tyrol screens at Laemmle Playhouse 7 on Dec. 5 and Dec. 6 at 7:30 pm as part of the Film Festival Flix. The screening is followed by Q & A with MouseTrap Films CEO Benjamin Oberman and video interview with director Phillip J. Pamer. Pre-showing Holiday reception begins at 6:00 p.m. at Monopole Wine Bar (21 S. El Molino Ave, about one block from the theatre). Red Carpet at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $14.

Merry Merry Movie this Saturday!

The Playhouse District Association is bursting with excitement this holiday season with our 5th Annual Merry Movie event. Holiday treats and surprises await all who attend!

We invite you to join us for the free screening of “The Muppet Christmas Carol.” The movie tells the tale of the Muppet Characters take of the Dickens classic holiday tale of Ebenezer Scrooge. The movie screening will be followed by a free holiday concert by St. Lucy’s Big Christmas Band in the Vroman’s Courtyard. Little junebugs will be hosting a holiday craft table for children to enjoy making one-of-a kind treasures. Hope to see you there!
